AnimEigo is proud to have been chosen to restore one of the best-loved and
influential Anime TV Series of all time, Super Dimensional Fortress Macross.
Our collector's edition release of Macross featured all 36 episodes, unedited and
uncut. And we not only made a new, digital transfer from film for this release, but also
spent hundreds of thousands of dollars (and over a year!) digitally cleaning, restoring and enhancing
the transfer!
The result is Macross like you've never seen it before.
The Macross discs are subtitled only, with our usual detailed liner notes, and
a few easter eggs as well. As the rights have reverted to Harmony Gold, Macross is no
longer available from us, but we will maintain the information on this page as a
courtesy to current owners of the title.

This set is of the original MACROSS, not the later Robotech
adaptation. It does not contain any english-language
dubbing. It does contain all the scenes shown on
Japanese TV, including scenes edited out during the Robotech adaptation.
The difference between MACROSS and Robotech is this: Robotech
was created by using footage and storylines from 3 different Japanese
TV series (Macross, Southern Cross and Mospaeda) that were totally
unrelated. Macross was the series used to create the first part of
Robotech (aka "The Macross Saga"). Some of the plotlines in the original
Macross were changed in Robotech to make the 3 series fit together.
ADV Films has released the ROBOTECH series on DVD, the first part
of which uses the MACROSS footage and an adapted storyline. The ROBOTECH
"MACROSS Saga" is dubbed into English, does not have the japanese soundtrack
or subtitles, and uses the original (unrestored) video transfer.
ADV
Films has also released sets of the
other two Robotech-adapted series, Mospaeda and Southern Cross.
