The Long "Arm" of the Law
SWORDOFJ Please note: as our license for this title has expired (and may not be renewed), it is currently unavailable. Your best bet for finding a copy is an online retailer or auction site.

Hanzo Itami is a reasonably honest cop. Unfortunately, his boss, Chief Constable Onishi, is totally corrupt, which means Hanzo has no chances for promotion and excellent chances for unemployment.

What Hanzo does have are quick wits, a quicker sword, and The Longest Arm of the Law... and he isn't afraid to use any of them!

Produced by the same team that produced Lone Wolf & Cub, and starring Katsu (Zatoichi) Shintaro, The Razor is an action-packed, sex-stuffed trip into the seedy underbelly of corrupt Edo. These films redefine the term "Politically Incorrect!" and are generally considered to be the most outrageous Samurai films ever made!

Like all of Samurai Cinema's releases, The Razor is uncut, unedited, and presented in the original theatrical aspect ratio. Not a single drop of blood has been omitted!

WARNING: Contains extreme violence, nudity, and strong sexual content. May create feelings of male inadequacy. Don't say we didn't warn you!

Liner Notes

Sword of Justice [Top]
When Hanzo learns that Kanbei, a condemned political prisoner, managed to make a deal, and is in fact shacked up in Edo with his mistress Omino, he figures a little investigation will allow him to parlay his knowledge into a nice promotion - either by exposing the culprits or as a reward for his silence (remember, he's only reasonably honest!)

The odious Onishi learns of Hanzo's investigation and threatens to fire him if he doesn't lay off. Smelling a rat in the rice, Hanzo pretends to comply, and soon discovers the link between Kanbei and Onishi - they are both boffing Omino.

To expose the corruption, and get his promotion, Hanzo has a lot of work to do. It will take all of his considerable detective powers, a fair amount of brilliant swordplay, and the enthusiastic application of his "biggest asset" to bring the culprits to what passes for justice in Edo.

The Snare [Top]
The discovery of the body of a young girl who has died after an illegal abortion starts Hanzo on the trail of a twisted and debased conspiracy that reaches to the highest levels of the Shogunate and threatens to destroy the economy! Along the way, he has to deal with a demented naked abortionist, a perverted priestess, a wily widow, and Hamajima Shoobei, Japan's #1 thief. Unfortunately for Shoobei, Hanzo is Japan's #1 constable!
Who's Got the Gold? [Top]
When a ghost appears in the swamp near a castle, Hanzo figures it's a cover for some nefarious operation -- and he's not surprised to find out there's more than a fistful of yen at stake!
